DONOVAN, Daniel M., Jr., a Representative from New York; born in Staten Island, Richmond County, N.Y., November 6, 1956; graduated from Monsignor Farrell High School, Staten Island, N.Y., 1974; B.A., St. John’s University, New York, N.Y., 1978; J.D., Fordham University, New York, N.Y., 1988; detective investigator; youth counselor; Manhattan, N.Y. assistant district attorney, 1989-1996; chief of staff, Staten Island, N.Y. borough president Guy V. Molinari, 1996-2002; Staten Island, N.Y. deputy borough president, 2002-2003; Richmond County, N.Y. district attorney, 2003-2015; elected as a Republican to the One Hundred Fourteenth Congress, by special election, to fill the vacancy caused by the resignation of United States Representative Michael G. Grimm, and reelected to the succeeding Congress (May 5, 2015-January 3, 2019); unsuccessful candidate for reelection to the One Hundred Sixteenth Congress in 2018.
