BURLISON, Bill D., a Representative from Missouri; born in Wardell, Pemscot County, Mo., March 15, 1931; B.A., Southeast Missouri State University, 1953; B.S., same university, 1959; M.Ed. and LL.B., University of Missouri 1956; admitted to practice before United States Supreme Court, United States Court of Military Appeals, United States District Court, and all Missouri courts; president, Missouri Prosecuting Attorneys Association; assistant attorney general of Missouri, 1960-1962; prosecuting attorney, Cape Girardeau County, for three terms; Head General Courts-Martial Trial Counsel, Second Marine Division, United States Marine Corps.; instructor, business law, Southeast Missouri State College; delegate, Democratic National Convention, 1964; elected as a Democrat to the Ninety-first and to the five succeeding Congresses (January 3, 1969-January 3, 1981); unsuccessful candidate for reelection in 1980 to the Ninety-seventh Congress; resumed the practice of law; is a resident of Crofton, Md.
