+ − Biography
Ken Paxton, a practicing attorney from McKinney, was first elected to the Texas Senate in 2012 after serving five terms in the Texas House of Representatives. His district includes the majority of Collin County, including Allen, Frisco, McKinney, Plano and Richardson, and part of Dallas County.
Paxton supports legislation that promotes individual liberties and free enterprise, limits the size and scope of the state government and supports transparency at all levels of government. He carefully considers each of these principles when casting his votes.
Ken Paxton received more general election votes than any other state representative in 2004 and 2008. He has been named "Texas Taxpayer Hero" by Texans for Fiscal Responsibility and has been named to the Texas Association of REALTORS Legislative Hall of Fame for his "uncompromising commitment to championing the rights of homeowners." In 2005, he was named one of the 21 Leaders of the 21st Century by Inside Collin County Business. In 2010, he was listed as a FIVE STAR Wealth Manager by Texas Monthly.
Ken Paxton lives in McKinney, Texas with his wife, Angela, and their four children: Tucker (20), Abby (18), Madison (16), and Katie (14).
