Patricia Harless was first elected to the Texas House of Representatives in 2006. She is currently serving her fourth term representing District 126, which encompasses Northwest Harris County. As the owner of Fred Fincher Motors in Houston and a lifelong resident of the area, she has deep roots in the community as an active small-business and civic leader.
In the Texas House, Representative Harless serves as the Chair of the Environmental Regulation Committee and is also a member of the Committee on State Affairs. She has passed numerous pieces of legislation for her district, including legislation to require voters to show a photo ID before casting a vote in-person.
Patricia is a conservative, pro-business advocate for issues affecting both District 126 as well as the State of Texas. She has been honored as a "Champion for Free Enterprise" by the Texas Association of Business. She was a Governor appointee to the Texas Motor Vehicle Board, where she served from 1998 to 2005. She currently serves on the National Energy Council.
Patricia has a strong commitment to the Republican Party and is an active member of several women's organizations, including her home club of Northwest Forest Republican Women. She has worked at the grassroots level for several local, state and national campaigns.
As an active civic and charity leader in the community, Patricia is a past president of the American Heart Association. She also serves on several boards including the Pearl Fincher Museum of Fine Arts, Cypress Woodlands Junior Forum and Lone Star College Foundation. She is a member of the 100 Club of Houston, Northwest Chamber of Commerce and a lifetime member of Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo.
Representative Harless attended elementary and middle school in the Spring ISD. She earned her Bachelor's degree in business management from LeTourneau University. Patricia lives in District 126 with her husband of 28 years, Sam Harless. They have one son, Samuel Justin, and are active members of Champion Forest Baptist Church.
