Debbie Riddle is a native Houstonian and proud Texan. She graduated from Waltrip High School and attended Southwestern University in Georgetown, Texas. She and her husband Mike have lived in the Spring/Tomball area for over 30 years. They are very proud of their large family- three grown children and their spouses and ten grandchildren. Debbie has served her community as a Realtor, Cub Scout Den Mother (her two sons are Eagle Scouts), volunteer firefighter, volunteer EMT, and a preschool Sunday school Teacher at Champion Forest Baptist Church.
Debbie ran for state representative and was sworn into office in April of 2002. Her first full session was in 2003. Since then she has authored or sponsored 29 bills that have passed into law and has co-or-joint authored or sponsored another 71 bills including major legislation on Tort Reform and the Defense of Marriage Act. She is very proud of passing House Bill 8, "Jessica's Law" in 2007 which gave prosecutors important tools allowing them to prosecute and seek life without parole for the most serious of offenders, habitual and repeat pedophiles.
She has written the book, Taking Back Your Country, Your Community and Your Kids, has been a frequent guest on KTRH radio, local TV, as well as appearing on Geraldo, Fox and Friends, Greta Van Susteren, CNN and BBC.
On the National level, Debbie serves on the board of the Jewish Institute of National Security Affairs in Washington, D.C., and she has served as president of the National Order of Women Legislators, the membership arm of the National Foundation for Women Legislators. In March of 2010, she traveled to Baghdad with the NFWL to monitor the fledgling democracy's elections and give her support to the citizens who risked their lives to make their voices heard.
