+ − Biography
State Representative Dan Huberty was sworn-in to serve District 127 in the Texas House of Representatives on January 11, 2011. It did not take long for Huberty's fellow members to recognize his innate leadership skills and solid work ethic. Within weeks of his arrival, he was appointed to two very highly-respected committees: Public Education and State Affairs. Huberty's strong efforts as a freshman were also recognized by those outside the Capitol as he was named "Rookie of the Year" by Texas Monthly Magazine at the conclusion of the 82nd Legislative Session.
Huberty's committee assignments served as a very good fit for his background in education and business. He served on the Humble ISD School board for five years before winning the election that sent him to the Texas Capitol Building. In his last year as a Trustee, he served as the Board President and as the Vice President and Chairman of the Finance Committee the year prior to that.
He serves as a Senior Vice President for Central Parking System, a leader in professional parking management. With offices in all major metropolitan areas in the United States, the Company operates approximately 2,500 parking facilities containing 1.2 million spaces. The Company's clients include some of the nation's largest owners and operators of mixed-use projects, office buildings, hotels, stadiums and arenas as well as airports, hospitals and municipalities. Prior to joining Central, Representative Huberty served as a Vice President for a natural gas fueling company.
Active in his community, Representative Huberty is a board member of the Lake Houston Area Chamber of Commerce; works with the Kingwood Chamber of Commerce and the Crosby-Huffman Chamber of Commerce. He is a member of the Knights of Columbus, and the Humble Intercontinental Rotary club; in addition, he is a board member of the Be an Angel Fund, and has been active with Mothers Against Drunk Driving and the Students Against Drunk Driving campaigns for nearly 20 years, as well as other efforts to improve life in Northeast Harris County.
Dan and his wife, Janet, have been married for 15 years. They live in Walden on Lake Houston with their three children, Brianna, Ryan and Dylan, and yellow lab, Rocky. They are active parishioners at Saint Martha's Catholic Church.
