RI - SB249 AN ACT RELATING TO CRIMINAL OFFENSES - SEXUAL ASSAULT (Establishes criteria for the criminal offense of sexual assault when the victim is in the custody of a peace officer. The act would also provide that a person convicted of custodial sexual assault would face imprisonment for not more than 3 years.)

RI - SB256 AN ACT RELATING TO BUSINESSES AND PROFESSIONS -- BOARD OF MEDICAL LICENSURE AND DISCIPLINE (Increases the maximum fine amount for those found guilty of unprofessional conduct by the board of medical licensure and discipline from $10,000 to $30,000 and would establish a new chapter of the general laws.)

RI - SB305 AN ACT RELATING TO HEALTH AND SAFETY -- ALCOHOLISM (Requires the dept of behavioral healthcare/developmental disabilities/hospitals to coordinate with the DOH to propose revisions to chapter 1.10 and 10.1 of title 23, including updates and revisions of statutory language and evidence-based best practices.)

RI - SB360 AN ACT RELATING TO TAXATION -- HISTORIC PRESERVATION TAX CREDITS 2013 (Repeals the sunset provision which ends historic preservation tax credits by June 30, 2021 or upon the exhaustion of the maximum aggregate credits, whichever comes first.)

RI - SB371 AN ACT RELATING TO STATE AFFAIRS AND GOVERNMENT -- RHODE ISLAND PAY FOR SUCCESS ACT (Creates a five (5) year pilot program entitled, pay for success, an intervention program that would assist homeless individuals with the goal towards improving financial and social outcomes.)

RI - SB380 AN ACT RELATING TO BUSINESSES AND PROFESSIONS -- DENTISTS AND DENTAL HYGIENISTS (Requires at least one oral and maxillofacial surgeon on the Rhode Island board of examiners in dentistry.)

RI - SB396 AN ACT RELATING TO CRIMINAL PROCEDURE -- VICTIMS' RIGHTS (Establishes a sexual assault survivors' bill of rights and provide protections to victims including the right to counsel, the right to a counselor and impose time requirements state labs in delivering and testing forensic evidence.)

RI - SB402 AN ACT RELATING TO FISH AND WILDLIFE -- FIELD TRIALS AND SHOOTING PRESERVES (Defines captive hunting as a hunt that occurs within a structure designed to restrict the free movement of animals and prevents the animal from escaping and would prohibit captive hunting within the state of Rhode Island.)

RI - SB405 AN ACT RELATING TO ELECTIONS -- GENERAL PROVISIONS (Allows individuals, who have not reached the age of eighteen (18) years, to vote in a primary election, as long as the voter will be eighteen (18) as of the date of the general or special election.)

RI - SB411 AN ACT RELATING TO CRIMINAL OFFENSES -- SEXUAL ASSAULT (Increases the age of children able to utilize a recorded forensic interview for cases of sexual abuse in grand jury testimony -- child assault from age fourteen (14) to age eighteen (18).)

RI - SB412 AN ACT RELATING TO HUMAN SERVICES -- ABUSED AND NEGLECTED CHILDREN (Requires the department of children, youth and families to report all suspected cases of child sexual abuse to the children's advocacy center.)

RI - SB415 AN ACT RELATING TO CRIMINAL OFFENSES -- ASSAULT WEAPONS (Bans the possession, sale, and transfer of assault weapons. Assault weapons owned on the effective date of this act would be "grandfathered" subject to certain registration provisions.)

RI - SB416 AN ACT RELATING TO CRIMINAL OFFENSES - WEAPONS (Prohibits obtaining/purchasing/transferring a firearm on behalf of another person if other person prohibited from possessing firearm with increase in penalties for those offenses and applications amended to state number of firearms purchased.)

RI - SB428 AN ACT RELATING TO STATE AFFAIRS AND GOVERNMENT -- DEPARTMENT OF ADMINISTRATION (Requires office of diversity, equity and opportunity to create material for annual government employee training.)

RI - SB429 AN ACT RELATING TO PUBLIC PROPERTY AND WORKS -- BUILDING SERVICE WORK (Requires that janitors and security guards employed, pursuant to state contracts worth more than one thousand dollars ($1,000) of janitorial or security services, be paid a standard compensation rate.)

RI - SB477 AN ACT RELATING TO TAXATION -- PROPERTY SUBJECT TO TAXATION (Requires cities and towns to implement affordable housing requirements upon all developers of tax stabilization applications for developments of more than five (5) housing units based upon median income as defined by HUD.)

RI - SB563 AN ACT RELATING TO PROPERTY -- RHODE ISLAND FAIR HOUSING PRACTICES ACT (Amends the definition of sexual orientation. Allows cases in superior court. Allows mediation prior to superior court case. Prohibits court order unless attorney fee waiver is signed. Repeals exemptions to sexual discrimination.)

RI - SB588 AN ACT RELATING TO BUSINESSES AND PROFESSIONS -- PHYSICIAN ASSISTANTS (Expands the rights of physician assistants with regard to their practice and prohibits non-compete clauses that exceed five years with regard to the purchase and sale of a practice.)

RI - SB589 AN ACT RELATING TO BUSINESSES AND PROFESSIONS - PHARMACIES (Authorizes a licensed pharmacist, who successfully completes a course on tobacco cessation therapy, to prescribe and dispense tobacco cessation drug products to a qualified patient pursuant to rules adopted by the board of pharmacy.)

RI - SB593 AN ACT RELATING TO HEALTH AND SAFETY -- PROTECTION OF CHILDREN -- PHYSICAL SEX CHARACTERISTICS SURGERY ACT (Prohibits physical sex characteristics surgery for children under 12 years of age, except to address an immediate risk of physical harm. Provides for a private course of action for violations with a 10 year statute of limitations.)

RI - SB608 AN ACT RELATING TO ELECTIONS -- VOTING DISTRICTS AND OFFICIALS--POLL WORKER COMPENSATION (Sets the daily pay for election supervisors at fifteen dollars ($15.00) per hour.)

RI - SB610 AN ACT RELATING TO LABOR AND LABOR RELATIONS -- MINIMUM WAGES (Requires employers with 50 or more employees to pay "hazard pay" to employees involved in providing essential services during a declared public health emergency.)

RI - SB611 AN ACT RELATING TO LABOR AND LABOR RELATIONS -- RHODE ISLAND PARENTAL AND FAMILY MEDICAL LEAVE ACT (Increases the amount of parental or family leave available to an employee from thirteen (13) weeks to twenty-six (26) weeks in any two (2) calendar years.)
