Frank G. Ferri (D) represents District 22, Warwick. Rep. Ferri was first elected in November 2007.
Rep. Ferri was a co-sponsor of the 2013 bill that legalized same-sex marriage in Rhode Island. He was a major marriage equality advocate prior to his election as a state representative.
In 2012, his Good Samaritan Overdose Protection Act was enacted, protecting people from liability if they administer opiod antagonists to a person they believe has overdosed. He also sponsored successful legislation which updated the Rhode Island fire code and allows for alternative and less costly means of compliance.
Additionally, Rep. Ferri started a scholarship for local students with the waiver payment he receives for declining the state-paid health insurance.
The owner of Town Hall Lanes in Johnston, which he has owned for over 25 years, he has also served as the Secretary of the Riverview Neighborhood Association.
Rep. Ferri is a 1972 graduate of Classical High School in Providence and received his B.S. from Bryant College in 1976. Rep Ferri was born on February 2, 1954. He is married to Anthony M. Caparco.
