+ − Biography
Rep. Todd Richardson, a Republican, represents part of Butler County, including the City of Poplar Bluff and part of Dunklin County, including the City of Malden (District 152) in the Missouri House of Representatives. He was elected to his first two-year term in November 2010. Rep. Richardson served as the House Majority Leader for the 98th General Assembly before being elected to his current position as Speaker of the House.
In addition to his legislative duties, Rep. Richardson is a practicing attorney in Poplar Bluff. He previously served as an adjunct instructor at Three Rivers College where he taught business law and national and state government classes.
Rep. Richardson is a member and serves on the board of the First Christian Church in Poplar Bluff.
Rep. Richardson is a 1995 graduate of Poplar Bluff High School. He received his B.A. in Political Communication from the University of Memphis in 2004. He obtained his J.D. from the University of Memphis in 2007. As a law student, Rep. Richardson led the University of Memphis to the finals of the National Moot Court competition and was recognized for outstanding advocacy and trial skills. He graduated from law school with honors and at the top of his class. He was also selected by his peers to give the commencement at his graduation.
Rep. Richardson currently lives in Poplar Bluff with his wife and their 2 children.
