+ − Biography
Representative Dick Lowe was elected to the Oklahoma House of Representatives in November 2020 to serve House District 56, a region rooted in agriculture and home to several key manufacturing industries.
Raised in agriculture, Lowe operates a family agricultural enterprise specializing in competitive show lambs for agricultural students. His deep involvement in FFA spans generations: He was a national proficiency winner in FFA and his sons competed in FFA. All three of his sons remain involved in agricultural careers today.
Prior to his service in the Legislature, Lowe retired from Canadian Valley Technology Center, where he dedicated his career to advancing career and technical education. A lifelong public servant, he transitioned from educator to elected official after a less than twenty-four hour retirement. He also previously served as state president of Oklahoma Career and Technology Education and as a member of the National Board of Directors for Career and Technology Education.
In the Legislature, Lowe has made strengthening Oklahoma’s education system his top priority, continuing a career-long dedication to preparing the next generation of Oklahomans for success. He currently chairs the House Common Education Committee and is a member of the Education Oversight Committee, the Appropriations & Budget Subcommittee on Education and the Energy Committee. He also serves as an Assistant Majority Whip.
Lowe and his wife have been married for more than 40 years and are active members of their local church. They now have four grandkids who show them the blessings of surviving the rearing of three sons.
