+ − Biography
State Representative Al Landis is serving his third term in the Ohio House of Representatives. He represents the 98th district, which includes Tuscarawas County and a portion of Holmes County.
He was born and raised in Tuscarawas County. A 1973 graduate of Dover High School, he began his career in the steel industry. He retired after 33 years of service to Greer Steel Company, located in Dover.
His activity in the district includes being a member of both the Tuscarawas County and Holmes County Chambers of Commerce, as well as serving on the Dover Chemical’s Citizens Advisory Panel. In 2012, he was named “Watchdog of the Treasury” by the United Conservatives of Ohio, and in 2013 he received the Vietnam Veterans of America Buckeye Council’s Legislator of the Year” Award.
Representative Landis is a member of the NRA and the Ohio Farm Bureau. He previously served on the Dover Township Board of Zoning Appeal and currently serves on the Tuscarawas County Republican Party’s Executive Committee.
Representative Landis and his wife, Debby, have two adult children and five grandchildren.
