+ − Biography
State Representative Wes Retherford is serving his second term in the Ohio House of Representatives. He represents the 51st House District, which encompasses portions of Butler County, including the cities of Hamilton and Fairfield, Ross Township, and portions of Fairfield, Hanover, and St. Clair townships.
Representative Retherford hails from Butler County, where he has lived his entire life. After graduating from Talawanda High School, he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps in 2002. Following Recruit Training in Parris Island, South Carolina and Marine Combat Training at the School of Infantry in Camp Geiger, North Carolina, he was stationed at Fort Bliss Army Air Defense Center in El Paso, Texas. Here he worked to provide support for the Marine Corp L.A.A.D. school and the Marines of the Joint Task Force, primarily training new Marines.
He was given his discharge in 2004 after enduring injuries while training. As a disabled, retired veteran, Representative Retherford is involved with issues regarding those who have served in the military.
Representative Retherford works as a mortician’s assistant at a Hamilton funeral home. He resides in Hamilton with his wife, Leann, and their children, Kaitlyn and Chance.
