State Representative Steve Hambley is serving his first term in the Ohio House of Representatives. He represents the 69th House District, which includes most of Medina County.
Prior to being elected to the House, Hambley served as Medina County Commissioner for 18 years. He has also served as a Brunswick City councilman for five years, chairing the city’s Planning and Zoning Committee and Economic Development Committee in the early 1990’s.
He received a Ph.D. from the University of Akron in 1993 and was awarded a Martin Scholarship in History for two years. He retired from Lorain County Community College (LCCC) as an adjunct faculty member in 2014 in order to run and serve full-time in the Ohio House of Representatives.
Over the last 20 years as a professor teaching at various colleges, Dr. Hambley has taught courses in American National Government, State and Local Government, Introduction to Politics, Comparative Politics, Introduction to Urban Studies, Contemporary World Problems, History of Civilization and US History.
A lifelong resident of Medina County, Steve Hambley lives in Brunswick with his wife Cheryl. His step-son Josh, who was honorably discharged from the United States Marine Corps in 2013, lives in Medina with his wife Ericka.
