State Representative Nan Baker is serving her fourth term in the Ohio House of Representatives. She represents the 16th House District, which includes Bay Village, Fairview Park, North Olmsted, Rocky River and Westlake.
Representative Baker has been a business owner for more than 30 years. As an active member of the West Shore Chamber of Commerce for two decades, she served as president for two years and currently serves on the Board of Trustees. She was also elected as a member of the Westlake Board of Education and served three terms on the Westlake City Council.
She stays active with her community through her involvement on the Community Advisory Board for St. John Medical Center. She is also an active member of Westlake Kiwanis, Westlake/North Olmsted League of Women Voters, Westside Professional Women’s Connection, Westlake Republican Club and the Westlake/Westshore Arts Council.
Representative Baker has been honored with numerous awards throughout her career in public service. In 1999, she was named Honored Woman of the Year by the Westlake/North Olmsted League of Women Voters. She has also been given the Cleveland State University David C. Sweet Award bestowed on distinguished alumni for elected service and the West Shore Chamber of Commerce Hugh Dawson Award in recognition of outstanding service to the business community. In 2009, Rep. Baker received the Chuck McDonald COSE Advocacy Award for her service and dedication to small business.
Representative Baker holds an associate degree in business from Lorain County Community College, a Bachelor of Arts from Baldwin Wallace College and is a graduate of the Leadership Academy of Cleveland State University’s College of Urban Studies.
Representative Baker and her husband have been married for nearly 40 years. They have three adult children and reside in Westlake.
