+ − Biography
Michael Venditto has spent his entire life in the South Shore communities that make up the 8th Senate District. He attended public schools and graduated Farmingdale High School, and earned his college and law degrees on Long Island. He now lives in Massapequa.
Michael cares deeply about the plight of Long Islandís middle class. A homeowner, he understands the impact of high property taxes on hardworking middle class families, young professionals and senior citizens who struggle to make ends meet on fixed incomes. As a Nassau County Legislator, Michael was a bridge between government and private businesses to promote new housing opportunities for families and he never voted to raise county taxes.
He's been a champion for small business, working with local Chambers of Commerce to recognize and promote the risk takers who are creating jobs in our community.
In the wake of Hurricane Sandy, Michael was frequently seen rolling up his sleeves to bring supplies and relief to families displaced by the raging storm. He worked tirelessly to help homeowners and businesses with post-storm cleanupóand even hand-delivered relief checks to some families to help with recovery.
Michael believes that there is no better place than Long Island to live and raise a family and he is committed to preserving our outstanding quality of life he and his wife, Antonella, who recently became first-time parents to a new baby boy, plan to raise their own children here. He's an advocate for strong schools, and responds to citizens' concerns about issues that threaten our communities.
Michael can frequently be seen at street fairs, youth athletic activities, dedications and events that benefit local charities, because he believes elected representatives need to be accessible to their communities.
Michael wants to use his energy to keep improving our communities, fight for our fair share of state aid for Long Island schools, hold the line on taxes, and help create jobs and opportunities to allow hardworking Long Islanders to succeed.
