+ − Biography
3rd term in the NH HouseRepresents Atkinson, Hampstead, Kingston, and PlaistowBorn and raised in Lowell and Chelmsford, MA, I have lived in Hampstead, New Hampshire since 1992 and moved to a 282 year old historic home, which I restored, in Plaistow in 2012. I received a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Lowell in 1984 and have become a Certified Manager of Quality/Organizational Excellence in 2012 by the world's largest quality certification body, The American Society for Quality (ASQ). My career has helped me develop a versatile skillset in the areas of Manufacturing and Process Control Engineering, Quality Management, Program Management, Change Management and Financial/Investment Brokerage. I have worked in various industries including defense, commercial products and medical devices. The detailed understanding of specifications, root cause, corrective action and continuous improvement has become part of my professional fiber. The works of Dr. W. Edwards Deming, who revolutionized manufacturing in Japan in the 1950's when we Americans were too proud to be "teachable", are also a valued part of my professional foundation. I have helped raise 2 wonderful children in a very challenging post-divorce environment here in New Hampshire. As a child whose parents were divorced in the 1960's, I have firsthand customer experience of how changes that we have made in the divorce process have been beneficial in some areas, and unintentionally very damaging to American families in others. Today with a continued ~50% divorce rate, significant growth in government social programs and a legal standard that removes children’s fit parents from them, I understand some of the weaknesses of our current system. A system that not only reduces family values, but the earnings capacity of the American workforce, that has historically built one of the strongest global economies ever. I am proud to serve on the Children & Family Law Committee to bring some of my real world experience and professional knowledge in an effort to drive statutory change to help correct some of the deficiencies in New Hampshire law. I see no reason why the New Hampshire Advantage can’t make us the best place in America. All we need to do is be “teachable”.
