Rep. Tom McDonald, a Democrat, represents part of Jackson County (District 28) in the Missouri House of Representatives.
In addition to his legislative duties, Rep. McDonald is retired after working as a Retail Environment and Industrial Designer for Hallmark Cards Inc. He also worked for 13 years as a partner with the advertising firm of McDonald, Slater & Associates.
Rep. McDonald attends Nativity of Mary Catholic Church. He is a member of numerous civic and charitable organizations.
In 2007, Rep. McDonald received a National Angels in Adoption Award from the United State Congress.
A 1965 graduate of St. Francis High School in Council Bluffs, Iowa, Rep. McDonald also received an undergraduate degree in Advertising Communication.
Born September 17, 1946 in Omaha, Nebraska, Rep. McDonald currently resides in Raytown. He and his wife, Lois have 12 children – Michelle, Brian, Michael, Lauren, Matthew, James, Justin, Miranda, Anna, Danica, Erin and Derek.
