+ − Biography
Rep. Tom Hurst, a Republican, represents parts of Osage, Cole, Miller, Phelps, Crawford, Gasconade counties and all of Maries County (District 62). He was elected to his first two-year term in November 2012.
In addition to his legislative duties, Rep. Hurst is an accountant, farmer, auctioneer, business owner, and landlord.
Rep. Hurst has been awarded the National Leadership Award. He is an honorary co-chairman of the Business Council, and member of the Golden Key National Honor Society. He is a member of several originations including: St. Cecilia Church in Meta, Missouri Farm Bureau, Fraternal order of the Eagles, Fraternal order of the Elks, Knights of Columbus, Missouri Cattlemen’s Association, and Osage & Gasconade County 4-H. He served as treasurer of the City of Meta, president of Meta MFA, and vice president/volunteer of the Meta Rural Fire Dept.
A 1984 graduate of Fatima High, Rep. Hurst earned a Bachelor’s of Science degree in accounting in 1988 from University of Missouri.
Born February 10, 1966, in Jefferson City, Rep. Hurst currently resides in Meta. He has three children: Macey, Hayden, & Emma.
