+ − Biography
Representative Sue Meredith, a Democrat, represents part of St. Louis County, including portions of Chesterfield, Creve Coeur, Maryland Heights, Olivette, Overland and a large portion of unincorporated St. Louis County (District 71), in the Missouri House of Representatives. She was elected to her first two-year term in November 2012.
In addition to her legislative duties, Representative Meredith continues to volunteer as a Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) for the St. Louis County Courts. As a CASA, she advocates for children removed from their homes due to abuse or neglect. She also serves as Chair of the Children's Services Commission.
Prior to her service in the Missouri House, Representative Meredith also volunteered with Girl Scouts (Neighborhood Registrar for 60+ troops), the Women’s Political Caucus (Treasurer), various PTO/PTA groups within the Ritenour and Parkway School Districts, and the Midwest Dance Theater Company (Treasurer). She also enjoyed a professional career with Webster University, a market research firm, a financial services firm and as Executive director of the Olivette Chamber of Commerce.
Representative Meredith served on the Ritenour School Board 1982-1985 and 1986-1989.
Representative Meredith is a 1964 graduate of Pattonville High School. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Political Science (1983), a master’s degree in Legal Studies (1998), both from Webster University, along with a Paralegal Certificate from that institution.
Born August 16, 1946 in St. Louis, Representative Meredith currently resides in St. Louis County with her husband, Michael. They have three adult daughters, Stephanie, Deborah, and Jessica as well as two granddaughters.
