+ − Biography
Rep. McGaugh, a Republican, represents Carroll County, Ray County and parts of Chariton County (District 39) in the Missouri House of Representatives. He was elected to his first two-year term in November 2012 and was subsequently re-elected in 2014.
Following his first term in office Rep. McGaugh was awarded the 2014 Farm Bureau Friend of Agriculture Award, the Missouri Association of County Clerks and Election Authorities Legislative Award and the Missouri Judicial Conference Outstanding Legislative Service Award.
Prior to his legislative duties, Rep. McGaugh opened McGaugh Law Offices in Carrollton and Richmond and was appointed as both the city attorney and city counselor for the Town of Carrollton. In 2012 Rep. McGaugh was elected as city attorney.
Rep. McGaugh is a member of the following organizations: Carrollton United Methodist Church, Missouri Farm Bureau, Missouri Cattleman’s Association, National Rifle Association, Wakanda Lodge #52 AF & AM and the Carrollton Lions Club. Rep. McGaugh is also a member of the University of Missouri Extension Council and long-time supporter of 4-H and other youth activities and programs.
A 2002 graduate of Carrollton R-VII High School, Rep. McGaugh received his bachelor’s degree in Agricultural Economics and a minor in Political Science from the University of Missouri-Columbia in 2006. He received his Juris Doctorate in 2010 from University of Missouri-Kansas City.
Born November 29, 1983 in Carrollton, Rep. McGaugh is a lifelong resident of Carroll County. He currently resides in Carrollton with his wife, Kassie, and their three girls, Nora Kate, Vivian, and Gemma.
