+ − Biography
Rep. Jeremy LaFaver, a Democrat, represents part of Jackson County (District 25) in the Missouri House of Representatives. He was elected to his first two-year term in November 2012.
Prior to his legislative duties, Rep. LaFaver worked as a child advocate for Kansas City’s Partnership for Children. His efforts led to the passage of several pieces of legislation in the Missouri General Assembly to help at-risk children and low-income seniors.
Rep. LaFaver has volunteered with the American Red Cross and Big Brothers/Big Sisters. He also served in the United States Peace Corps as a community health education volunteer in Turkmenistan. In addition, he has donated his time at Operation Breakthrough and the Kansas City Child Abuse Roundtable, as well as serving as a CASA volunteer in Jackson County. Rep. LaFaver and his wife also have worked to raise funds for the American Cancer Society and Susan G. Komen for the Cure.
Rep. LaFaver received his bachelor’s degree from Kansas State University.
Born October 14, 1979 in Helena, Montana, Rep. LaFaver grew up in the Kansas City area. He and his wife, Stephanie, currently live in the Waldo area. They have a daughters, Isabelle and Caroline.
