+ − Biography
Representative George Hruza, a Republican, proudly represents part of St. Louis County (District 89) in the Missouri House of Representatives. He was elected to his first two-year term in November 2024.
A highly respected physician, Rep. Hruza earned his Bachelor of Arts degree from New York University in 1978, followed by a Doctor of Medicine degree in 1982. He earned his MBA from the Washington University Olin Business School in 1998.
With a career spanning decades, he is a board-certified dermatologist and micrographic dermatologic surgeon – taking care of patients with difficult skin cancers. Rep. Hruza has been listed as a top doctor for over 25 years and has contributed more than 200 publications to medical literature, including textbooks, even teaching dermatologic surgery on four continents, highlighting his extensive expertise and commitment to advancing dermatologic care. Rep. Hruza is Adjunct Professor of Dermatology at St. Louis University, and former Associate Professor of Internal Medicine (Dermatology), Otolaryngology and Surgery at Washington University.
Rep. Hruza is married to his wife, Carrie, and enjoys spending quality time with their children: Paul, Stephanie, Rose, and Hope. With a busy and fulfilling career, he is driven by a desire to serve his community in both his professional and legislative roles, bringing a wealth of knowledge and experience to his work in the Missouri House.
