Rep. Donna Lichtenegger, a Republican, represents portions of Cape Girardeau County (District 146) in the Missouri House of Representatives. She was elected to her first two-year term November 2010.
Her many years of public service include: 20 years as a member of the Republican Central Committee -ten of which she served as the Vice-chair; the Republican State Committeewoman from 1998 to 2010 for the 25th Senatorial District; Chair of the 32nd Judicial District for six years; ten years Chair for the Eighth Congressional District.
Highlights of her life include meeting President and First Lady George W. Bush during the 2000 National Convention; attending the White House 2004 Christmas Party; and in 2007 she received the Bill Emerson Public Service Award for Leadership.
Rep. Lichtenegger has 39 years of experience as a dental hygienist. Her dental career includes membership with the Missouri Dental Hygiene Association; a 32-year membership with the American Dental Hygienist Association; four years Vice-Chair of the Southeast Missouri Dental Hygienist Association.
She enjoys membership in the following organizations: St. Paul Lutheran Church – Ladies Guild; Jackson Noon Optimist Club; Cape Girardeau Boys and Girls Club, board member; Cape County Black and Gold Club; Lutherans For Life; University of Missouri Alumni Association; and the Regional Samaritan Clinic, board member; and former memberships with JC Wives and the Lutheran Family Children Services’ Cape Girardeau board.
Following her 1969 graduation from Normandy High School, she attended the University of Missouri then transferred to St. Louis Community College – Forest Park where she received an A.S. in Dental Hygiene in 1973.
Born in St. Louis, Rep. Lichtenegger currently resides in Jackson with her husband. They have two children and five grandchildren.
