+ − Biography
Rep. Bill Lant, a Republican, represents Newton and McDonald Counties (District 159) in the Missouri House of Representatives. He was elected to his first two-year term in November 2010.
Prior to his legislative duties, Rep. Lant owned and operated Lant’s Feed & Farm Supply, and worked as a salesman and account executive for ABF Freight Systems.
Rep. Lant has served as a deacon and Sunday school director and teacher and is currently a member of Racine Christian Church. He has served as President of the Seneca R-7 school district, where he has been a board member since 2008 and is a former board member of the Redings Mill Fire Department.
Rep. Lant is a 1964 graduate of Collinsville High School in Illinois. Rep. Lant received his A.A. from Jasper County Junior College and attended Pittsburg State University.
Born January 18, 1947 in Evansville, Indiana, Rep. Lant currently resides in Pineville with his wife, Jane. They have three children, William, Stephen and Craig. Rep. Lant is a descendent of the 12th President of the United States, Zachary Taylor.
