Senator Hopson is a member of Sigma Alpha Epsilon. He is also a member of Mission Mississippi, Mississippi River Trail, the United Way, the Mississippi Bar and the Red Carpet Bowl.
Senator Hopson was born October 10 1965 in Memphis, TN. He is married to the former Alison Quaid. They have three children, Liam, Walt and Jane. He is of the United Methodist faith.
