+ − Biography
State Rep. Cindy Gamrat was first elected to serve the 80th District in the Michigan House of Representatives in November 2014. The 80th District includes the cities of Allegan, Fennville, part of Holland, Otsego, Plainwell, Saugatuck, and part of South Haven. She also represents the village of Douglas city and the townships of Allegan, Casco, Cheshire, Clyde, Fillmore, Ganges, Gun Plain, Heath, Hopkins, Laketown, Lee, Manlius, Martin, Monterey, Otsego, Overisel, Salem, Saugatuck, Trowbridge, Valley and Watson.
Gamrat graduated with honors from University of Michigan and is a licensed Registered Nurse.
Rep. Gamrat has worked as nurse in Oncology, Hospice, and Intensive Care before becoming a stay-at-home mom. She chose to home school her children and in addition to teaching her children she has taught Biology, Economics, and American Government to high school home school co-op classes.
PUBLIC OFFICES AND AFFILIATIONS
In the fall of 2012, Cindy was elected as Allegan County’s Precinct 2 Delegate and the Presidential Elector of the Sixth Congressional District. She was most recently a candidate for Vice-Chair for the Michigan Republican Party at the 2013 State Convention. She currently serves on the GOP Executive Committee in Allegan County.
Cindy is married to her high school sweetheart, Joe. They have three children, daughter Meghan and twins Paige and Joey.
