+ − Biography
Rep. Aaron Miller was first elected to serve the 59th District in the Michigan House of Representatives in November 2014 and is currently serving his second term. Located in southwest Michigan, the 59th District encompasses the entirety St. Joseph County and part of Cass County, including the city of Dowagiac and the townships of Calvin, Jefferson, La Grange, Marcellus, Mason, Newberg, Penn, Pokagon, Porter, Volinia and Wayne.
Rep. Miller is vice chair on the House Appropriations committee and chairs the School Aid & Department of Education subcommittee. He also serves on the Transportation subcommittee.
After graduating from Sturgis High School in 2006, Miller graduated from Western Michigan University in 2010 with a Bachelor of Arts in Secondary Education with a focus in political science and mathematics. He also holds a Master of Education in School Administration from Bethel College in Mishawaka, Indiana, earned in 2014.
Rep. Miller was a middle and high school mathematics teacher in addition to coaching tennis, track and cross country. He served for two years as his church’s youth leader.
Aaron and his wife, Alexandria, were both born in Sturgis and have lived in the area ever since. They currently reside in Sturgis with their daughters Jael and Leah. They attend Grace Christian Fellowship in Sturgis.
