Hannah Kane serves as the State Representative for the 11th Worcester District, elected to office on March 31, 2015 in a special election and sworn in on April 8, 2015.
Hannah graduated from Boston University’s School of Management in 1993. Hannah has significant experience in both the public and private sector, beginning her career working at Unum Insurance Company before being recruited by Lt. Governor Paul Cellucci to work in the Weld/Cellucci Administration on the redevelopment of the former 4,400 acre Fort Devens Army Base and on the merger of 2 quasi-public state agencies into the Economic Development Authority MassDevelopment. Hannah served as Director of Marketing and Product Development, helping generate over a billion dollars in economic development across the Commonwealth. Hannah returned to the private sector as Vice President of Marketing Services for a consulting firm, developing and implementing business growth and marketing strategies for clients including Lucent Technologies and Avaya, St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, Grubb & Ellis and Pebble Beach Golf. Hannah has been co-owner and managing partner of Beaton Kane Construction since 2010.
Hannah is deeply committed to public service, serving as an elected Town Meeting Member for 13-years, past President of the Shrewsbury Development Corporation, member of the Shrewsbury Finance Committee, Chair of the Board of Deacons at First Congregational Chair and as a Trustee at Andover Newton Theological School and the Seven Hills Foundation.
Hannah’s community involvement includes serving as President of the Shrewsbury Public Schools Foundation which hosts the annual Garden Party fundraiser and as Floral Street School PTO President, where she has led efforts to raise over $400,000 for the Shrewsbury Public Schools. Hannah co-chaired the successful ballot committee to build the new Sherwood Middle School and served as campaign strategist for the Community Supporters for Shrewsbury successful ballot initiative. Hannah serves as Vice-Chair of the Shrewsbury Republican Town Committee and served as Chair and Tournament Director for the Beaton Charity Classic, helping raise over $112,000 for Shrewsbury Youth and Family Services, St. Anne’s Human Services and Westborough Food Pantry.
Hannah and her husband Jim have lived in Shrewsbury for eighteen years and have 3 children, Madison, Caitlin and Patrick, in the Shrewsbury Public Schools.
