Chuck Jefferson was sworn in to complete the term of former Rep. Doug Scott. Jefferson, a ten-year member of the Winnebago County Board, has been an active leader in the Rockford community for many years. He is a past-president of the New Zion Day Care Center and the Rockford Sportsmen Golf Association, which organizes after school programs for underprivileged youth. He is a past vice-president of the United Way, a past president of the Rockford West Lions Club, and a member of the Welcome Star Masonic Lodge. He has three sons: Carl Edward, Curtis Lamar, and Charles Jr.
