Representative Karen Fann was elected in November of 2010 to represent Legislative District 1 representing Yavapai County and portions of Maricopa County. Karen moved to Prescott at the age of 4, is a life-long Republican, precinct committeeman; member of Rotary International and Elks. Karen currently serves as Chairwoman of Insurance. She is also a member of the Agriculture, Water & Lands Committee; Transportation Committee and County & Municipal Affairs.

Karen is the owner and CEO of a highway construction company specializing in the installation of guardrail and signs throughout the State of Arizona, celebrating its 31st Anniversary. Her business was started in 1984 with $500 and has grown steadily to become Arizona's largest guardrail company, with forty employees. Karen is a licensed contractor with the Arizona Registrar of Contractors; past president of Yavapai County Contractors Association; and past president of Prescott Chapter National Association of Women in Construction. Previous work experience also includes four years legal experience; ten years airport/airline experience and a licensed Arizona Realtor.
In addition to the guardrail company, Karen and her husband Jim, owned and operated the FANN-M Ranch for nine years which was an equine facility, boarding horses, producing equine competitions, working with area 4-H clubs and other nonprofit organizations for community fundraisers.
