+ − Biography
Born in Holbrook and raised in Heber, Arizona, Representative Chester Crandell is a fifth generation native of rural Arizona and Legislative District 5.
He has worked in the education field for 30 years. The last 10 years he was the Superintendent of the Northern Arizona Vocational Institute of Technology (N.A.V.I.T.) where he created the partnership with Northland Pioneer College to provide educational services to N.A.V.I.T.
Representative Crandell is a graduate of University of Arizona, with a degree in Agriculture Education and a graduate of Northern Arizona University, with a degree in Masters of Education Leadership.
He serves on the following House Standing Committees: Agriculture and Water, Education and Environment. He is also the Co-Chair of the Joint Legislative Study Committee on Outcome-based Education Funding and Co-Chair of the House Ad Hoc Committee on Arizona Forests Restoration Management.
Representative Crandell resides with his wife Alice of 44 years in Heber. They have 9 children and 26 grandchildren.
