Representative Joe Faust was born on September 13, 1940 in Birmingham, Alabama (Jefferson County).
He is a graduate of the Marietta Johnson School of Organic Education in Fairhope, Alabama (Class of 1959) and attended Faulkner Community College where he studied business.
Representative Faust served in the National Guard from 1958-1966 and one year during the Berlin Crisis (1962). A resident of Baldwin County since 1942, Representative Faust began his career as a Regional Sales Manager and later, Supervisor in the retail milk business. Representative Faust also worked as an insurance broker.
Representative Faust was twice elected to the Baldwin County Commission (1996 & 2000), served as Chairman of the Baldwin County Commission, Vice Chairman of the Baldwin County Commission, is a Board member of the Marietta Johnson School of Organic Education, former Board member of the Eastern Shore Chamber of Commerce and a Mason. A member of the Baptist Church of Fairhope, Representative Faust is married to the former Ms. Sharon Fay Pennington and they have four children: Teddy Joe Faust, Jr., Christopher Smith, Andrea Holloway and Mallory LeBlanc and seven grandchildren: Amanda, Chelsea, Gabriel, Kari, Jillian, Hudson and Lizzy.
