Representative Charlotte Meadows was elected to the Alabama House of Representatives on November 12, 2019 in a special election to fill the role vacated after the passing of Representative Dimitri Polizos.
She is a former Montgomery County School Board member who became involved in education policy as the outreach and policy director for StudentsFirst, Alabama. During that time, she advocated for the passage of charter school legislation in Alabama. Subsequently she was a founding member of the board that started LEAD Academy, the first public charter school in Montgomery in 2019.
Representative Meadows grew up in Montgomery, attended public schools here, graduated from Auburn University in 1984 in Accounting and received her MBA from University of South Alabama in 1989. She and her husband moved back to Montgomery where she assisted him in starting a solo allergy practice in 1991. She worked for the clinic for many years while raising their three children. She also volunteered with PTA’s, church and various civic organizations, including the Montgomery Capital Rotary Club, the Montgomery Ballet, Hands on River Region and local Republican clubs. She has also been an active member of the county and state Republican executive committees for a number of years.
Representative Meadows is appointed to the House Health Committee, Education Policy Committee and the local Montgomery County delegation.
She is married to Allen Meadows, MD. They attend Harvest Family Church and are the proud grandparents of a new granddaughter.
