Senate Amendment 001
Replaces everything after the enacting clause. Reinserts the language of the introduced bill with the following changes. Further amends the Freedom From Location Surveillance Act. Provides that an investigative or law enforcement officer may seek to obtain location information in an emergency situation if the situation involves a clear and present danger of imminent death or great bodily harm to persons resulting from: (1) the use of force or the threat of the imminent use of force, (2) a kidnapping or the holding of a hostage by force or the threat of the imminent use of force, or (3) the occupation by force or the threat of the imminent use of force of any premises, place, vehicle, vessel, or aircraft. Provides that an investigative or law enforcement officer may seek to obtain location information in an emergency situation if the situation involves escape as defined in the Criminal Code of 2012.
