House Amendment 001
Replaces everything after the enacting clause. Reinserts the contents of the bill with the following changes. Removes the requirement that a regional superintendent must have earned at least 20 semester hours of credit in professional education at the graduate level. Requires a regional superintendent to have had experience in teaching through the university graduate (instead of undergraduate) level. Requires a regional superintendent (i) to hold a valid all grade supervisory license, a valid State limited supervisory license, a valid state life supervisory license, or a valid administrative license or (ii) to have on staff an assistant regional superintendent of schools, as signed by an affidavit filed with the State Board of Education, and to have been employed with the regional office of education for a minimum of 5 years in an administrative capacity (instead of requiring him or her (i) to hold a valid all grade supervisory license, a valid State limited supervisory license, a valid state life supervisory license, or a valid administrative license or to have on staff an assistant regional superintendent of schools and (ii) to have been employed with the regional office of education for a minimum of 5 years in an administrative capacity). Effective immediately.
