This Amendment clarifies all of the following: (1) The process for a correctional officer to submit a written request for government agencies or persons to remove or refrain from publicly posting or displaying the personal information of the correctional officer or the officer’s family. (2) The Department of Correction’s responsibility for developing policies and procedures for when a correctional officer requests the Department to notify government agencies and persons of the correctional officer’s written request and for enrolling the correctional officer in the services of an online privacy vendor.

This Amendment specifies that a person shall not "knowingly" post personal information of a correctional officer or their family if the officer has made the appropriate written request. This Amendment also removes criminal penalties as a remedy.
