This Amendment prevents a person who stored their firearm in their vehicle so that it was not visible and was not readily accessible to a person outside the vehicle from being found guilty of unsafe storage of a firearm.

This amendment defines "locked container" for purposes of House Bill No. 155. This amendment also clarifies that the provisions of unsafe storage of a firearm in vehicle does not apply to holders of a valid license to carry concealed deadly weapons.

This amendment to House Amendment 2 to House Bill No. 155 allows for a glove compartment of a motor vehicle to be considered a “locked container” if it can be manually locked to render the firearm inaccessible by any individual other than the owner or an authorized person.
